Thand ki Ek Raat-One Night of a Security Guard

It was a last weekend of December when Ram Lal enters in a society for his night shift.

Wrapped in an insufficient Warm clothes, relieve the guards of morning shift. He was fully prepared, to be active & awakened for the whole night .

It was a chilled & windy night of Delhi.Looked for his post, collect his whistles ,wooden bar  and Eveready commander Torch which are his safety gears for the night. He settled for the night to stand on post and guard the society for any un towards Incident/accident during the entire night.

Difficult for Ram Lal as the night was getting further darker and the silence was becoming more prominent. Sounds of barking dogs
at the other corner of the roadside were bothersome for him as he gets afraid of any unpleasant happening to the society hence gets up to take a round of society.

The "thuk thuk" sound of his wooden bar on the road while patrolling within the campus every  hour gives a sign of satisfaction for residents who get assured of that RAMLAL is awakened.

Everyone in the campus was sleeping because Ramlal was awakened and roaming all night within our campus guarding our boundary.

No one like to remain out in the night unless he/she is forced to.Ramlal was enjoying his night duty because the amenities at Guardroom is much better than his house moreover he was not being accommodated there in one room Flat in night for his young married son.He happily sleep in the daytime when his son moves out for livelihood and daughter in law busy for home care in day time.

He sometimes feel sleepy seating at the gate ,tired in night when a car horn for opening the door, the Resident drove in staring  him for the delay in getting up and opening the door.He is afraid of such look of the inmates.

Working in Night is against the nature. One always naturally induce sleep. He gets himself refreshed by making & taking Tea in night.

It is really a tough duty for lesser wage (half of the Govt.fixed charges) with no safety Equipments and warm clothes.Ideally  the employer should provide him a better warm jackets, shoes, blankets and Torch etc with an incentives time to time for his sense of belongingness to the people of society.Such exploitation is not expected from a society like ours.If not money we can always give a affectionate look to them after all he was awakened whole night when we were within the comfort of our quilt.

Today he has not reported and someone else was there on the post.On further enquiry it was found that he was not well and lying in high fever.Neither employer nor the society have any arrangements of medical help for such persons who are working with us.There meagre savings are spent in a moment when they fall sick.

Ram Lal is like Army personal on LOC but unlike them ,they don't get any award or reward but being forgotten in a wink of eye.

Don't be selfish, think millions of people like Ram Lal who are working in odd hour for us.We can always atleast spare  them our SMILE & LOVE which does not cost anything.

Procedures to check NAME IN ELECTORAL ROLL.

Check your Name in Electoral Roll

The last date of addition of name in Electoral Roll is 04/03/2019.

Our area BLO of Matiyala 34 coconstituen will be available till 4th evening at Old Najafgarh road MCD office.

Form 6 will be available at Guard Room from 6pm onward.

The Lok Sabha elections are closer and in order to cast your vote, your name should appear in the electoral roll.

An electoral roll is a list of names prepared by the Election Commission of India.

This includes the names of all the people, aged 18 years and above, who have voter ID cards.

If you already have a voter ID card, then ideally, your name should appear on the electoral roll. However, sometimes this is not the case. Hence, it is crucial to check if your name appears on the voter list ahead of the polls.

How to check if your name is on the voter list?

The Election Commission of India has already published the electoral roll on its website on January 31. So starting February 1, Indian citizens can check whether their names are on the list.

You need to log on to the National Voters’ Service Portal.

https://eci.gov.in

On the left hand side, you will see a search bar, where you can search for your name and see if it appears on the electoral roll. Once you click on this bar, it will take you to the electoral search page, where you will have to fill in the mandatory details like Name, Date of birth, State, District, Constituency, Gender and so on.

After this search, you will either be able to see your name on the roll or there may be cases where the name does not appear.

If your name does not appear then

Depending on the case, the EC has various forms on the National Voters’ Service Portal.

On the main page, one can see the links to various forms.

New voters must fill form 6 in order to register themselves as voters. You will need a passport sized photo and proof of age and residence.

There may be cases, where people who are alive appear as deceased on the electoral roll. Some people’s age may be wrong or spelling may be incorrect. To update or correct the details on the electoral roll, one must fill Form 8.

If you have relocated to a different location within the constituency, use Form 8A.

If you wish to delete your name from the voters’ list from any constituency and relocate to a new constituency, form 6 must be filled along with form 7. Form 6 is to register to vote in a new constituency and by filling form 7, your name will be deleted from the voters’ list in the old constituency.

Hope this is of some help.

LIFE OF A SWEEPER

Life of a Sweeper

It was a bright sunny but a cool day when we noticed that our Sweeper has not reported on duty till around 1pm though he usually arrives in our society by 8:30 to 9am.

I smell something wrong as  the other day he informed me that his wife was sick and admitted to hospital. On further inquiries I was informed that she was admitted to ICU.

India is a contry where Individual earn from ₹3500/=pm to ₹350,000/=pm and even sky is the limit and so is the life style. A huge gap in earning since freedom.

Most of sweepers are working in an unorganized sector where their earnings ranges from ₹3000/= to ₹8000/=pm.50℅of the earnings come from sorting out materials from garbages which they collect door to door.

During this process they come across dirtiest of the materials which we even hate to touch them.

The four walls of their houses are mere a piece of clothes stitched together, tied at four poles to give a short of privacy from neighbor and becomes a virtual house.

They have more children than average middle class to have more hands to earn for their livelihood. They together with their parents support in sorting the garbage.

During this process the entire families are exposed to deadly bacterias which they survive as they develop stronger immunity than average person in their neighborhood who don't dwell in such areas. They are always at bigger risk and survive until they fall sick.

They live on the mercy of God.

His wife couldn't survived this time and passed away leaving her 3 children behind on the mercy of no one.

Good sense prevailed and people donated money almost equivalent to Sweeper's annual salary which was sufficient enough to pay the Hospital dues and do the Last rituals of his wife.

He is also a citizen of India where Govt.(Whether State or Central),boasts for numerous welfare scheme for their citizens of Weaker section but in the whole process no where we found an existence of Govt officials or their schemes.

In fact freebies will not uplift the life of people in weaker section but the Government officials has to be patriotic, honest and work for the cause of uplifting the normal standard of our citizens.
They have to bring all the Government Schemes up to their level & educate them to eradicate the poverty from society.

The job is not difficult.
Only the Leaders have to think beyond Vote banks and work for nation.

We also own certain duties towards our fellow citizens. We must inculcate a habbit of caring, imparting few tips and awareness to them about the upcoming norms and trends of society and job is done.

Someone truly said that they are the child of "Lesser God".
Who Cares?
