Visit to Varanasi

since November 1st i stayed at Varanasi due to my posting as Aircraft Engineer and most of my time spent on the Varanasi Airport.
The old city of Varanasi is 30 Km from the Airport Though Airport is started somewhere in 1960 but development is still awaited.
One can still see the old houses and the road condition is really very bad.Electricity supply is only few hours in the day time like anyother northern city of India.
Airport is connected to Delhi,Lucknow,Khajuraho,Bombay, bangkok and Kathmandu in Nepal.Thai Airlines has a daily service to Varanasi.Air India Flights connect Varanasi from Lucknow, khajuraho,Bombay, delhi and kathmandu.Jet Airways, kingfisher and Spicejet also touches Varanasi with a Daily flights.Recently Jet Airways is flying Bangkok twice in a week.
One can see a huge inflow of foreign passenger to Varanasi as it is a pilgrimage place for Budha and Hindus.
Sarnath is a place approximately 30 Km from airport where one can see many Bodh temples where as a famous temple of Vishwanath Lord Shiv is 40 kms from here at the bank of Ganga.
New Airport terminal buiding is under construction and expected to be ready by March 2010.Opening of the new terminal will share the the load of the old terminal building which is unable to carry the load of transit passengers.

Dying rivers in India

Recently i had a visit to Rishikesh,Haridwar, and varanasi.i stuned to see the water level in The ganga. We can say now that our rivers are dyeing and need immediate attention by the local, central, state government and the people(individual)itself to save our ecology.
The very 1st step to be taken by the government to stop urbanisation of the Hills.Stop building multiple story building at Hills in the name of Hotels and motels. This is not only polluting the Hills but increasing the temperature above the hills and the results are known to every one.
Secondly, stop making houses in the farmlands which are supposed to be used for only ploughing.slowly we are going to face acute shortages of food grains. There must be a foolproof policy by the Govt. so that a horizontal growth must be stopped and inspire people to go for vertical growth only.
Grow large number of trees to protect our climate before it is too late.
Government must do on the village level to generate employment and increase the recreation facility so that exodus to be brought to an end.
we have to learn to protect our environment to live for our generations otherwise it will be too late to take any corrective actions.

Election in India

Unconditional support to UPA by many regional parties who have basically lost their face value in front of people have just no right to show their goodness when every body know their intentions. They have been voted to just seat in opposition.they are giving support to UPA at this juncture when UPA don't require them.
Once again Indian democracy has shown its strength and voted a strong and stable party in Govt. This was the need of hour. This has boosted our economy.Indians are now more confident.
Thanks to the indians Voter and lot of good wishes to UPA.

Back to Basics

Dear all,
Recently i had been diagnosed diabetic on the 1st week of march 09.I went to Doctor for the advise when i had a pain in my left shoulder.During the random test of Sugar i had a reading of about 407.This was an alarming situation and immediately alongwith the clinical advise i took all the preventive care such as WALKING up to 6Kms a day this was followed by YOGA for 40mts.Food habits which include sproutes, oat meal, roti with green vegetables.
This brought my sugar level down to FP 95 and PP 98.
Presently Now I can say that I am totally back to basics as i was leaving 40 years back in my home town i.e Left all the modern day habits in my day to day life and living a very simple village life. This has cured/control my sugar level.

Bihar visit

Recently I had been to Bihar for 10 days and saw an amazing change in Bihar.Road conditions are now very good, electricity has also improved but lot to be done to prevent electricity theft.Electricity distribution must be immediately handed over to private firm so that they can effectively collect the revenue and can curb the electricity theft.

The state of Bihar and its people have to work very hard to make the pace of the progress faster and in parallel to the other state of the country.
