Dying rivers in India

Recently i had a visit to Rishikesh,Haridwar, and varanasi.i stuned to see the water level in The ganga. We can say now that our rivers are dyeing and need immediate attention by the local, central, state government and the people(individual)itself to save our ecology.
The very 1st step to be taken by the government to stop urbanisation of the Hills.Stop building multiple story building at Hills in the name of Hotels and motels. This is not only polluting the Hills but increasing the temperature above the hills and the results are known to every one.
Secondly, stop making houses in the farmlands which are supposed to be used for only ploughing.slowly we are going to face acute shortages of food grains. There must be a foolproof policy by the Govt. so that a horizontal growth must be stopped and inspire people to go for vertical growth only.
Grow large number of trees to protect our climate before it is too late.
Government must do on the village level to generate employment and increase the recreation facility so that exodus to be brought to an end.
we have to learn to protect our environment to live for our generations otherwise it will be too late to take any corrective actions.
