SUFFERINGS OF BEING BIHARI-A NON RESIDENT BIAHARI(NRB)

Bihar is very unique in its social, economic & cultural pattern as a result large % of population is still struggling to meet both ends whereas the other remaining pie of people are very rich and Affluent who controls the economy of Bihar.

Of late after Laloo regime in Bihar who aggressively plays the Cast politics and rule the state for two decades where Bihar was struggling for basic needs especially after food it was Health and Education .

No University was sticking to their examination sessions on time causes exodus of Bihari students and settled outside Bihar in all the parts of country to shape up their life and future.

Over the periods these NRBs(hereafter will be referring them as Non resident Biharis, NRB) excelled in almost every walk of life and earn their livelihoods leaving their parents at native places.

These NRBs also contributed large amount of economy back to Bihar as they keep sending at least one third of their earnings back home.

After Sh Nitish coming back to power with NDA on the issues of development by defeating Laloo government, people of Bihar had lot of hopes from him and he brought significant change in Bihar and Biharis at many parameters but then again fell prey of caste based politics, shakes hand with Laloo and others who he opposed once and ruled Bihar for two decades; a large % age of young voters are not happy and they are not going to buy their idea of cast based politics.

Each of young voters wants development in his own state like rest of India.

Today Bihar wants to know from these politicians when we are self sufficient in every thing, let it be fertile land, coal, water, mines or talent then why we can not progresses like rest of the states in our country. Where do we lack if we have all the resources?

Answer is very tricky. It can be understood by the policies of Britishers where they ruled India by Divide& Rule policies since more than 200s of years.

Here politicians never wanted the poor,Dalit & Backwards to get the education. They systematically mar the education system in the state so that only those who are rich and sustain will get education by moving out of state and the poor became the labors of our country.

Since the state neither seen Green revolution nor Industrialization in long run(since Independence) with no policies for decades on Road and Electricity; there was nothing left in State to stay with and larger portion of youths in 1990s moves out for livelihood and became labour.

Today one can find three different types of migrants Bihari; One who are IAS,IPS,IRS,Engineers and Doctors,

Second have indulgence in small business like selling veggies and fruits, and driving Auto rickshaws and

Third,a very large percentage of poor who could do nothing but either their parents were bonded labours in Bihar or starving of food moved out as a Labourers and initially engaged in farming in Punjab where these labours were being sent and auctioned for Six months and they too here was working like bonded labour only but there life was a bit better than in Bihar.

Today Bihar's migrants, though due their hard work, achieve a respectable life but the tag of Bihar as a LABOUR is still there.

BIHARI word is a synonymous of a type of abuse for Bihari.

Everyday on day to day basis NRBs are struggling for their own existence and trying to prove that we are not less in any parameters than people of other state, facing hurdle at every steps but nothing succeed and win such proxy war outside Bihar unless Bihar progress.

Unless Bihar adopt the change of leadership for the cause of Developments in Bihar in terms of Road,Electricity, Farming,Industry and Health etc,the proxy war of NRB will remain as is.

The youth of Bihar must choose the Government who can bring change in Bihar.

We must ask questions to ourselves why Bihari should go out to get education when we own the world's first University in past as Nalanda university?

Sher Shah conceptualise and inaugurated the GT road in Bihar then and today we do not have road, why? We had the genious amongst us like Aryabhat,Chanakya,Chadragupta and Emperor Ashoka and we had the tag of Labours why?

Two major religions in the world started from Bihar; Buddhism and Jainism; and we are struggling to regain our existence Why?

Just think Friends,How long we keep fighting among our own brothers in the name of cast and reservation. Let us choose our own live by bringing everything in our state what we deserve for. How long we get abused of a state of Laborers, and we will be known as BIMARU State.

Development and only Development should be our only motto so that we must go back to our state and stay with pride.

Let us dream of a rich, progressive and prosperous BIHAR.

GREECE CRISIS-A BIRDS EYE VIEW

Greece Crisis is an example of over expenditure met by debt borrowings and default in payments schedule with a GDP in downward trend from 7.7% on year to year basis till 2000 goes to -Ve.

Debt payment was done by borrowing from other financial institutions each time till it default more recently.

Greeks enjoyed the lavish life with a living standard ranked 21st in the world till recently unless the recession crept in by 2008 and the government starts taking austerity measure to meet the repayment schedule very recently by the beginning of 2010.

Athens being the capital of Greece with “Drachma” was its currency till 1999 prior to adopting Euro by 2001.

Shipping and Tourism are the main sectors contributing GDP. Greece is facing Debt crisis since it has accumulated high level debt during the decade before financial crisis when the market was highly liquid.
As the market faces financial crisis there was liquidity crunch in world economy thereby making borrowing difficult as well as expensive and this makes difficult and irregular of repaying the debt.

This was due excessive expenditure, mismanagement, unregulated labor market and obsolete pension system.

US sub-prime crisis by the end of 2008 had a large impact and further deepens the crisis to Greece as volatile capital markets due to liquidity crunch resulted in lower capital flows. Strict norms were made for banks to grant loans and rates were also increased thereby borrowings becomes costlier and difficult for Greece. This had a large affect on shipping and Tourism of Greece which was prime contributor to GDP.

It was forced to borrow heavily from the world market to fund Government Budget and account deficit and accumulated high level of debt before the financial crisis or the recession took place.

During this period Government expenditure increased by 87% whereas economy grew only by 31%.This resulted in Rising unemployment, Tax evasion and corruption.

Greece foreign policy largely focused on neighboring countries (Romania, Bulgaria, turkey)were also under the grip of recession.
The Europian union IMF,and the ECB sets up Tripartite committee(TROIKA) to prepare program whereby in May 2010,3 years package of Euro 110 billion was declared and ECB provided substantial liquidity support to Greek’s private Banks Euro 51 billion(b/W  Jan 2010 to May 2011).
Euro zone provided again a loan of 109 billion in July 2011.ECB purchased bonds valued 78 billion from Greece Govt.
EU also made a proposal to make a single authority responsible for Tax and Govt.spending.
Three consecutive austerity measures were taken in Feb 2010, May 2010 and Jan 2011 whereby salaries, leaves Bonus, pension and various perks were cut (almost Euro 40 billion) which resulted in large scale protest.
G20 leaders come up with plan to protect Banking system against crisis by recapitalizing the banks so that they can absorb the losses without going bankrupt.
France and German trying to save Greece being bankrupt it defaults. Greece FM told to resolve the crisis and US is putting pressure on EU to save Greece otherwise it will lead to double dip recession.
Now due over public expenditure and over borrowed, Greece is on the verge of default. Greece Govt is taking tight austerity measure to bring down budget deficit to 0.9% of GDP by 2015.
Now the EU is in dilemma whether to save Greece or let it go default.
Greeks are going for referendum on Sunday and have to vote in terms of YES or No but people are totally confused about the questionnaire which will decide Greece's relationship with European union.

INCOME TAX PAID BY INDIANS-AN OVERVIEW

Income Taxes paid by Indians-Overview and Numbers

One would be surprised with some of the numbers. According to the report released by Indian Finance Ministry,  estimated number of taxpayers for previous financial year stands at just 3.24 Crore people. That means, less than 3 people in 100 pay taxes
Out of these 3.25 Crore people, 89% pay taxes in the tax slab of 0 – 5 Lakh rupees, while on the other end of spectrum, only 1.3% of all tax payers have income about 20 Lakh!
Slab                 No.of Tax payers        %age   Amount                       %age of tax
0-5 Lakh          288.4 Lakh people       89%     15,010 crores              10% of total revenue
5-10 lakh         17.88 Lakh people       6%       21,976 crores              15%------Do----
10-20lakh        13.88 Lakh Pople        5%       17,858 crores              12%------Do----
>20 Lakh         4.06 Lakh people         1.3%    93,229 crores              63%------Do----

The DATA ABOVE clearly shows the inequality in the earnings of Indian people – Imagine, in a country of 120+ crore people, only 4 lakh people earn above 20 lakh rupees a month.
Now, if you consider that many cheat when it comes to taxes, even then the numbers are so skewed that it is mind-boggling.

The biggest surprise, only 1.3% of all tax payers earn more than 20lakhs in india, they account for a whopping 63% of all tax collected by Indian Government. So 4.6 lakhs Indians pay a total of 93,229 cror rupees of tax. This comes to an average of roughly 23 lakh per person.

THE LOST DAYS

.............JAANE KAHAN GAYE WO DIN(THE LOST DAYS)
Few decades ago in 1970 during our childhood, life was so simple & easy,I mean there was no place of sorrow and despair in life.
Every night my siblings were waiting for my father to back home as he always come with an envelop holding some or other type of sweets which we waited till late night after dinner or used to have our dinner along with my siblings and father,a rare sight today.
My mother used to cook and love to serve food. She usually had her food after we finish it up.
We live then without knowing that life changes with time as the time changes everything in one's life and it was true to our bro and sis too.
After expiry of one of my sibling in late 70s,everything changes. The life was not same as it was before. My mother became silent for years and life of ours was changing in tune of my mother's silence.
Happiness were getting away each passing days and we too become young loosing one after another siblings in late 80s then my father in 90s.
The joy & happiness what we had in 70s did never repeat in our live. The law of nature was prevailing and lost my mother too by the end of 2014.
Priority in life of everyone's depends on one's personal behavior and need that decides the Individual liking and then no matters after that whether he/she was your brother or sister.
The family bonding weakened once any one of our parent left for eternal abode and bonding disappeared in most cases when both of them are no more.
Time plays an important role in all these changes. It is better to help as much as one can to their parents till they are alive rather repenting after loosing them.
Once they pass away, one has only memories to cherish but in their lifetime when they need our help and support we are too busy in our own affair that we take their presence in our life as a burden, hardly bother to even call them once in a day which they keep on waiting days after days and month after months.
Talking to our old parents is stress reliving like a kid we keep visiting mother's lap for small things, complaining her and she was saying" don't worry you will be alright" and in a fraction of second we were back to the play grounds among friends as if nothing had happened.
Better make it a habit to talk to your parents at least once a day,you will feel a difference. Visit them frequently if you can, this will instill lot of energy within.
Think you are blessed that your parents are there to take care of you.
We loved then to be with our family. We forget the days we quarrel for petty things with our siblings,in night for sleeping nearer to mom or father, for a small piece of chocolates and then everything used to be so normal.
Never thought of being stay in separation but with time; few were separated by nature and rest willing to remains in separation.
Today we are alone, parents are no more, siblings are staying in separation,Day and night we are working for our kids, worried for their future, who knows tomorrow when we need them they will extend their hand to help us or leave us in dejection.
The cycle of life continues, unable to sleep for the night with a cellphone clinched in my fist as if I must not miss to pick up the call when my wards will call me.
I heard the chirping of birds, a very new day with rising sun started peeping through my window was ready to welcome. It was like a nightmare and so far not true but the fact is that I miss my childhood days ,my siblings,my parents and everything that i treasure during my boyhood and today  I have no regrets  saying "jaane kahan Gaye wo din".

KASHMIR ONCE AGAIN

Visiting Srinagar.......

After 27 Years, in the Valley once again

.............For us,

Srinagar is a place of knowledge and education and has a very special place in our hearts. What we are today because of our institution and the place where we graduated.

During all these passing years (more than two and a half decades) we were always attached to the place so much that whenever a news related to Srinagar kept appearing in print or digital media we get to be very attentive and was painful to visualize what happened.

We too were getting affected with each of the unpleasant incidents which had happened there and was reminding us our time in Srinagar when it was so peaceful and friendly. We can imagine how our friends would have been struggled to survive in the valley during all these years.

Always worried for the where about of our batch mates whose memories were fading away with each passing months, years and even decades.

During the last two and half decades, the time kept us so busy that we never found times to look back and connect to our friends who disappeared after getting degree from the college in 1989.Each one of us were struggling for not less than 5 years after the college then settled slowly & slowly.Few of our batch mates do meet in these passing years but then no one had any clue during the period while the state was going through.

Technology help us a lot in finding our missing link.Earlier ORKUT but not of much help but after 2009 on wards the role of FACEBOOK is very important as we start finding our friends over there and a link was created.

May 24 & 25,2015 was a great day in our lives when we met through the technology(Whatsapp) and hoping to meet soon in person.

I had the privilege to be in the valley and hence i tried to visit the places where we usually keep roaming around the city during our stay in 1984 till 1988 we graduated from the institute.
