THS Actuator jamming operational check

Jamming Tool-0U190857

Feeler gauge -1.2mm

Lock wire-14QEB1(.6mm)

Minimum Two persons -One in cockpit and one in THS Compartments 

AMM Reference-

27-44-00-710–001-A

Lockwired caps marked in the RED BOX above in the picture are to be cut and removed to install a Jamming Tool(shown in pic below)on the shaft spline of the control shaft.


THS Jamming Test:-

Four Tests are to be done

(1)Elec.Mode RH VALVE BLOCK- TOOL MARKS A/C N UP,

(2)Elec.Test LH VALVE BLOCK- TOOL MARKS A/C N UP,

(3)Mech Mode LH VALVE BLOCK-LH A/C N DN,

(4)Mech Mode,RH VALVE BLOCK-RH A/C N DN 

Gap to be checked between input plate and Ball carrier.This is behind the valve control Shaft.Gap must not be exceeding 1.2mm.

Reference mark is on the control valve detent.

Step 1:-

Alignment of the Left and Right control Valve detents:-

Put one end of the Jamming tool on the splined end of the Valve control shaft,

Use the tool side N UP or N DN  mark of the Jamming tool that puts the spigot nearest to the recess,

Turn the mechanical input of the THS ACTUATOR until the jamming tool goes into the recess.

If the Jamming tool is installed with the side LH or RH with A/C N DN marks,turn the mechanical input clockwise until the detent is centred with a click sound.

If the Jamming tool is installed with the LH or RH with A/C N.UP Marks,turn the mechanical input CCW until the detent is centred with a click sound.

If it is not centred then turn the mechanical input until you get Click 

sound.

Step 2:-Depressurised the hydraulic and ELAC 1,SEC1 ON 23VU & ELAC2 &SEC 2 are released so that OFF light comes ON.

Now,follow AMM TASK for the test procedures.

Once all  the four  tests are performed,normalised the Aircraft.
